Peace, Salaam, Shalom, Shanti…

If you have found your way to this site you are probably someone whose essential core is nurtured by nature. Welcome. Even if our tongues do not speak the same language, our true selves do.

The earth and all her creatures are a critical part of our lives.

He created the earth for all creatures. (55:10)

We are not alone.

Indeed, we are not alone. The beauty of the creation has long filled humans with wonder and spiritual longing. For millions that wonder has been enhanced and the longing assuaged by the words of the Quran. Most of us in the West are not familiar with these aspects of the Muslim scripture, having heard only the distorted understandings of terrorists and radicals. We would like to rectify that now by sharing with you the earth-friendly wisdom and poetry of the Quran, a "green" scripture.

The Quran contains much wisdom that applies directly to man’s position in the natural world and his responsibility to the earth and its inhabitants. The beauty of nature is described in many of its verses. You are invited to enjoy some of nature’s beauty and the wisdom of the Quran by checking the topics section, enjoying the frequently updated photographic slide shows, or reading the journals of fellow travelers.

If you are one of us who is uncomfortable with the western concepts of divinity, or if you have a strong faith that is different from the organized religion called Islam we hope you will browse anyway. The Islam of the Quran is not an organized religion, but rather a way of life focused on pleasing God, so you may find much that speaks to you. God treats each of us as an individual regardless of religion, race, gender, nationality, language… and describes the intelligent:

They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best…. Quran 39:18

Again, welcome. Please feel at home. Explore as you like.
